App End User License Agreement

By purchasing, downloading, installing, or using the font files provided by Local Type Co. (the “Font Software”), you agree to the terms of this End User License Agreement (“Agreement”).

1. License Grant
Local Type Co. grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to embed the Font Software in one application or software product, subject to the monthly active user limit specified in your purchase.

The license itself may not be transferred to another person, brand, company, or entity.

2. Monthly Active Users
This App License is based on the number of monthly active users (“MAU”) of the licensed application or product.

If the number of monthly active users regularly exceeds the tier covered by your license, you must obtain the appropriate license extension.

Temporary or exceptional increases in usage do not require an immediate license upgrade.

For usage exceeding the highest available tier, contact Local Type Co. for a custom license.

3. Applications and Platforms
One App License covers one application or software product.

Versions of the same application made for different operating systems or platforms, such as iOS, Android, macOS, or Windows, may be covered by the same App License, provided that they are functionally equivalent versions of the same product.

Separate applications or software products require separate App Licenses.

4. Client Work
Designers, studios, agencies, developers, and other service providers may purchase an App License on behalf of a client.

If the Font Software is embedded in a client's application or software product, the App License must identify and cover that client or product as the licensee.

5. Permitted Uses
You may embed the Font Software in the licensed application or software product for the purpose of displaying text as part of that product's interface or content.

The Font Software may be distributed only as an embedded component of the licensed application or software product and must not be made separately accessible to end users.

6. Font Protection
Reasonable technical measures must be taken to prevent users from extracting, accessing, copying, or otherwise obtaining the Font Software from the licensed application or software product.

The Font Software may not be made available for independent download or use outside the licensed application or software product.

7. User-Generated Content
This App License does not permit the Font Software to be made available to end users as a selectable font for creating, customizing, or generating their own text, graphics, documents, designs, products, or other content.

Such uses may require a Server, SaaS, or other applicable license.

8. Other Uses
This App License does not grant Desktop or Web usage rights and does not permit use of the Font Software in unrelated applications, software products, websites, games, editable templates, server-based design tools, or other products or services not covered by this Agreement.

These uses require the appropriate Desktop, Web, Server, or other applicable license.

9. Modifications
You may not modify, reverse engineer, rename, convert, adapt, or create derivative font software from the Font Software without written permission from Local Type Co.

Reasonable technical conversion or subsetting required solely for permitted application embedding is allowed, provided that it does not create separately distributed or independently usable font software.

10. Font Files
You may make reasonable backup copies of the Font Software for archival purposes.

You may not sell, sublicense, distribute, share, rent, lend, give away, or otherwise make the Font Software available to another party except as expressly permitted by this Agreement.

11. Ownership
The Font Software and the designs embodied in it remain the intellectual property of Local Type Co.

Purchasing a license grants you specific rights to use the Font Software; it does not transfer ownership of the Font Software or its intellectual property rights.

12. Termination
This license remains valid unless you breach its terms.

If this Agreement is terminated because of a breach, you must stop using the Font Software and delete all copies in your possession or control.

13. Warranty and Liability
The Font Software is provided “as is.” To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Local Type Co. is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from its use.

14. Other Uses
Uses not covered by this Agreement may require an additional license. Contact Local Type Co. if you are unsure whether your intended use is covered.
